The Team

Two engineers.
One standard.

Solvanta was founded by two senior infrastructure engineers who got tired of watching complex problems get handed to junior staff. We built the company we always wanted to work with.

Who you're actually working with

Alex Vargas

Infrastructure Architect · Co-Founder
MySQL PostgreSQL Proxmox Ansible Linux

Alex has spent over a decade designing and managing infrastructure for high-traffic applications, SaaS platforms, and mission-critical enterprise environments. His specialty is remote database architecture — building systems where data is always available, always consistent, and always recoverable.

He has led infrastructure migrations for companies handling millions of daily transactions, designed multi-datacenter replication pipelines from scratch, and responded to dozens of production incidents where every minute of downtime had a direct financial impact.

Deep expertise in
Remote database setup & optimization
High-availability replication architectures
Disaster recovery planning & drills
VPS, dedicated & bare-metal provisioning
Infrastructure automation with Ansible

Marco Reyes

Security Engineer · Co-Founder
pfSense Pacemaker iptables Nginx HAProxy

Marco brings a security-first mindset to every infrastructure project he touches. With a background spanning network security, firewall architecture, and distributed systems, he's the engineer you want on-call when your servers are under active attack — and the one who makes sure they aren't vulnerable in the first place.

He has designed and implemented DDoS mitigation strategies for companies under sustained volumetric attacks, built failover clusters for financial platforms, and conducted deep security audits that uncovered critical vulnerabilities before adversaries did.

Deep expertise in
DDoS mitigation & traffic engineering
Layer 3–7 firewall design & hardening
Failover clustering (Pacemaker, Corosync)
Infrastructure security audits
Intrusion detection & incident response

Why we started Solvanta

We met while working at a managed hosting company where both of us were repeatedly pulled in to fix infrastructure problems that had been mishandled by generalist teams. Remote databases set up without replication. Firewalls with permissive rules nobody had reviewed in years. "Disaster recovery plans" that had never been tested.

We kept seeing the same pattern: businesses with genuinely complex infrastructure needs were either hiring large agencies that put junior engineers on their tickets, or trying to manage it themselves with limited expertise. Neither worked.

So we founded Solvanta with a simple constraint: we only take on work where both of us are directly involved. No account managers. No escalation tiers. When you hire Solvanta, you get us — two senior engineers who have seen these problems in production and know how to solve them properly.

Principles we don't compromise on

Senior engineers, always

Every engagement is handled directly by Alex or Marco — never delegated to staff you haven't met or don't know.

Production-first thinking

We design for how things fail, not just how they work. Every recommendation is tested against real-world failure modes.

Radical transparency

We tell you what's wrong, why it's wrong, and what it takes to fix it. No upselling, no obscuring complexity.

Long-term partnership

We build infrastructure to last and stay available long after the initial work is done. Our best clients have been with us for years.

Measurable outcomes

We define RTO/RPO targets, uptime guarantees, and performance benchmarks before we start — so you know exactly what success looks like.

Everything documented

Every setup we deliver comes with full documentation. You own your infrastructure — we make sure you can actually understand and manage it.
